Carl MOOS

1931

35 x 22 cm

This small card board sign, finely printed by stone lithography, is one of the first Swissair advertissemnt. Swissair was founded on 26 March 1931 after the merger of Astra and Balair, two of the principal Swiss companies. The legal name of the new company was "Schweizerischer Luftverkehrs AG" but went under the commonly used name of Swissair. First Swissair flights were using the fleet of Fokker 7B/1M and 7B/3M aircraft from Balair and Astra. Those tri-engined airliner were able to carry 8 to 10 passengers to the European cities.
